Maximize Savings During Amazon’s October Prime Day
Amazon is gearing up for its second largest sale of the year, known as October Prime Day, which kicks off on October 8th. Various early promotions have already begun to appear, reminiscent of previous events. To fully capitalize on the offerings of this sale, having an active Prime Membership is essential. If a free trial of Amazon Prime is appealing but ongoing costs are not, remember to cancel before the trial period concludes.
Steps to Cancel Your Amazon Prime Membership
You can easily finalize the cancellation of your Prime subscription through a web browser by first accessing your Amazon account. There is an End Your Prime Membership button on their help page to initiate the process. Alternatively, follow these steps:
-
Visit Amazon.com in your favorite web browser.
-
Hover over the Accounts & Lists section located in the upper-right corner and select Prime Membership.
-
Navigate to Manage Membership at the top-right, then click the End Membership option.
-
Follow the subsequent prompts to complete the cancellation of your Prime subscription.
Keep in mind that Amazon’s cancellation process involves multiple clicks, designed to potentially make you reconsider your decision.
Ending Your Amazon Prime Membership Through the Mobile App
If using the app is more convenient, you can also withdraw from Prime using Amazon’s Shopping app by following these steps:
-
Launch the Amazon Shopping app on your mobile device.
-
Tap on the Profile button located at the bottom of the screen, represented by a person icon.
-
Scroll down to find and select Manage Prime Membership.
-
From the Manage Membership dropdown, select Manage Membership.
-
Press the End Membership button.
-
Follow the further instructions shown on your screen to successfully cancel your Prime account.
Considerations When Canceling Your Prime Membership
It’s important to note that terminating your membership will immediately remove your access to Prime benefits. However, Amazon allows you to temporarily pause your benefits rather than completely cancel them. In both scenarios, while your Amazon account remains active, Prime features will no longer be accessible.
Lastly, if your Prime membership is connected with other subscriptions, those services will remain active until their billing cycles conclude. Moreover, if you joined Prime through the Android shopping app or Prime Video app, management of your membership needs to be handled through Google Subscription.
