Ready to uncover the answers for today’s Connections puzzle? They are provided here.

Yellow Words in Today’s Connections

The yellow category is generally viewed as straightforward. Its theme is TEMPLATE, encompassing the words: BLUEPRINT, GUIDE, MODEL, and MOLD.

Green Words in Today’s Connections

The green category is typically the second-easiest. Its theme is DEMONSTRATION, AS OF APPRECIATION with the words: EXPRESSION, GESTURE, SYMBOL, and TOKEN.

Blue Words in Today’s Connections

The blue category is considered the second-hardest. Its theme is MODAL VERBS with the words: CAN, MIGHT, MUST, and WILL.

Purple Words in Today’s Connections

The purple category is regarded as the most challenging. Its theme is ___ TRIP with the words: EGO, GUILT, HEAD, and POWER.

Solving Today’s Connections

It seems the words MOLD, GUIDE, MODEL, and BLUEPRINT correlate to planning or constructing. 🟨

Moreover, CAN, WILL, MIGHT, and MUST can be seen together in the context of intention, indicating possible actions. Initially, there seemed to be a potential pairing with WILL and EGO, but this interpretation feels stronger. 🟦

Furthermore, HEAD, GUILT, POWER, and EGO can all combine with “trip”: HEAD trip, POWER trip, GUILT trip, and EGO trip. 🟪

This leaves EXPRESSION, TOKEN, SYMBOL, and GESTURE, all representing various forms of emotional expression. 🟩

How to Engage with Connections

A detailed guide to playing Connections is available, but here’s a quick overview of the rules:

Begin by locating the Connections game on either the New York Times website or in their Games app. You will find a grid featuring 16 tiles, each displaying a word or phrase. Your objective is to identify a set of four tiles that share a common theme. These can often belong to the same category (for instance: RAIN, SLEET, HAIL, and SNOW are weather phenomena), but sometimes contains playful word associations (for example, BUCKET, GUEST, TOP TEN, and WISH relate to types of lists: bucket list, guest list, etc.).

Choose four items and hit the Submit button. If your selection is correct, the associated category and color will be displayed. (The colors range from yellow as the easiest to purple as the hardest.) If you guess incorrectly, you will get a chance to try again.

Victory is achieved when all four groups are correctly identified. However, if four mistakes occur before completion, the game ends, and the answers will be shown.

Strategies for Mastering Connections

Understanding that the groupings are intentionally designed to present challenges is crucial for success in Connections. Overlapping categories are common. For instance, a puzzle featured six breakfast items: BACON, EGG, PANCAKE, OMELET, WAFFLE, and CEREAL. Intriguingly, BACON was actually part of a group of painters (CLOSE, MUNCH, and WHISTLER) while EGG was associated with things encountered by the dozen (JUROR, ROSE, MONTH). Therefore, confirm that your chosen four items represent an exclusive category before clicking “submit”.

If you find yourself at an impasse, examine the words that appear to have no apparent connection to others. If WHISTLER brings to mind the famous painting titled “Whistler’s Mother,” you might be onto something significant. In tackling that puzzle, a quick search for a painter named Close revealed helpful connections.

Another effective approach when feeling stuck is simply to read through some strategic hints—we provide these daily for your benefit. Make sure to return tomorrow for the next intriguing puzzle!
