Last summer, Google introduced the Pixel 9 smartphones, in addition to the new Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2. The second iteration of these earbuds boasts significant enhancements that make them an attractive option for any Pixel user, although they also work well with most Android devices and have limited compatibility with iOS systems. Currently, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are available for just $179, down from their original price of $229, marking their lowest price to date as per pricing trackers.

The retail price of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is $29 higher than that of the previous version, the Pixel Buds Pro, which can now be found for $111. To support the increased cost, Google has incorporated various improvements in the new model. These enhancements include a revamped twisting mechanism for a more secure fit during vigorous activities, superior active noise cancellation (ANC) achieved by snugger ear placement, an upgraded audio processing capability through the new Tensor A1 chip, and increased battery efficiency offering up to eight hours of playtime with ANC enabled and 31 hours using the charging case. Additionally, the earbuds feature Gemini Live, Android’s upgraded AI voice assistant. However, some aspects, such as the drivers, wireless charging, and equalizer options have not seen any upgrades from the prior version.

These new earbuds come with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, with their charging case also rated at IPX4. Users can expect eight hours of uninterrupted listening time with ANC on (or 12 hours with it off) along with an extra 22 hours (36 hours without ANC) courtesy of the charging case.
