The previous day’s puzzle was moderately challenging. The hint was “similar to a bath or cappuccino,” and the answer included two common letters, a somewhat common letter, and one uncommon letter.

If your guess of common letters yields all gray responses, that’s still useful information for ruling out possibilities. While no single “best” starting word exists, insights from the New York Times’s Wordle analysis bot suggest trying one of the following:

• CRANE

• TRACE

• SLANT

• CRATE

• CARTE

Meanwhile, an MIT analysis identified words that may help you eliminate the most possibilities, suggesting:

• SALET

• REAST

• TRACE

• CRATE

• SLATE

Other suitable choices could include ARISE or ROUND. While terms like ADIEU and AUDIO include more vowels, beginning with a consonant-rich word such as RENTS or CLAMP might yield better initial feedback. Choose your approach and evaluate its effectiveness.
