Playing Quordle
Quordle can be found here on the Merriam-Webster platform, with a new challenge released daily.
This game offers a twist on the daily Wordle format from The New York Times, where players have a set number of attempts to deduce a five-letter hidden word. In Quordle, however, you’re tackling four Wordle-style puzzles at once, and each guess applies to all four simultaneously. As a result of this increased complexity, players receive nine guesses (twelve on “Chill” mode and eight on “Extreme”), unlike the traditional six from Wordle.
Begin by selecting a five-letter word. The letters will display in each of the four segments — turning green if correct, yellow if in the right word but wrong position, or gray if that letter is absent.

Strategy for Today’s Quordle
Starting with a word like SLATE provides useful information. Noting that the upper right word could begin with a cluster of consonants but cannot have an ‘L’ or ‘S’, reduces options to variants like PR, FR, BR, or CR. It might also start with a vowel.
Using MOUND aids in revealing additional vowels.
Next, testing with DRAPE yielded a match for the upper right guess—success!
For the bottom left, STRUT seems plausible. Confirmed!
Considering CREEK for the upper left was close, but CRIER fit perfectly.
N and E have limited placement in the bottom right. Attempting NEIGH resulted in a swift completion!
