Explore the Latest in Apple AirPods: ANC and Non-ANC Options
As of September 2024, Apple users seeking top-notch active noise-canceling (ANC) AirPods faced a steep price of $250 for the AirPods Pro. However, the introduction of the ANC AirPods 4 has significantly reduced this cost. Currently, these advanced earbuds are available for just $148.99. Additionally, Apple offers a cost-effective model of the AirPods 4 lacking ANC for $99.99, reduced from an original price of $129.
According to price-tracking resources, these prices represent the lowest recorded rates. While the markdowns might not be extraordinary, any reduction in pricing for newly launched AirPods offers considerable value.
The latest AirPods 4 feature a USB-C charging option. Both variants incorporate Apple’s H2 chip, enabling Personalized Spatial Audio that creates a three-dimensional sound experience. Users can also utilize head motions to give Siri commands, such as accepting or declining calls.
Opting for the ANC model provides additional conveniences, including a charging case equipped with a speaker for locating the case via Find My, as well as advanced features like Conversation Awareness, which automatically adjusts volume during conversations; Transparency Mode for ambient sound awareness; and Adaptive Audio that adjusts noise cancellation based on the surrounding noise level. It’s important to note, however, that the ANC capabilities may not match those of the AirPods Pro, as these earbuds adopt an open design lacking silicone tips that enhance noise blockage.
Both models are rated IP54, ensuring dust and water resistance, and offer around five hours of playback on a single charge (extending to 30 hours with the charging case). They also support seamless switching between Apple devices.
