Discover the Revised Beats Powerbeats Pro 2: A New Era for Earbuds
The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 may have caught attention primarily for its heart-rate monitoring capabilities, yet this aspect is surprisingly its least impressive feature. Released in February, these earbuds stand toe-to-toe with the AirPods Pro 2, both typically retailing at the same price. However, a noteworthy discount now places the Powerbeats Pro 2 at just $199.95, down from an original $249.99, as per data from price-tracking tools.
After a five-year wait, Beats has finally released an upgrade to the Powerbeats Pro. Users looking for a worthwhile discount will appreciate the excellent workout earbuds highlighted in Beth Skwarecki’s review, now available for under $200. The newly designed ear hooks are smaller and crafted from nickel titanium alloy, enhancing both flexibility and durability. With four sizes of eartips provided, users can achieve a secure fit that maximizes the benefits of active noise-cancellation (ANC) and sound quality.

The design of the Powerbeats Pro 2 is specifically tailored for fitness enthusiasts. They boast an IPX4 water resistance rating and feature physical buttons for media control, opting for tactile over touch-sensitive controls. The new charging case supports wireless charging and is more compact compared to its predecessor, although slightly larger than the AirPods Pro 2 case. With ANC off, the battery can last up to ten hours, and approximately eight hours when ANC is active, offering about double the typical battery life of the AirPods Pro 2.
Equipped with the same H2 chip as found in the AirPods Pro 2, the Powerbeats Pro 2 include automatic media pausing when removed. While they feature a heart rate monitor, its functionality is somewhat lacking (detailed insights can be found in Beth’s article). As with many Beats products, the app does not allow for complete EQ customization, thus the users will have to adapt to Beats’ characteristic sound that emphasizes bass.
