Important Recall Alert for ESR Power Bank Users
Individuals utilizing ESR power banks for charging their mobile devices should take immediate action. A recall of several models from the HaloLock wireless power bank line has been issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission due to concerns regarding the potential overheating of lithium-ion batteries, which could lead to fires. To date, there have been nine reported incidents linked to this issue, resulting in approximately $20,000 in damages.

Which Models of ESR Power Banks Are Affected?
The recall pertains to ESR HaloLock wireless power banks identified by model numbers 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B, which are displayed on the right side of the device. Both 2G520 and 2G505B come equipped with kickstands. These units are available in a variety of colors including dark blue, light blue, gray, black, and white, and feature five circular LED indicators on their side.
As per the recall announcement, these power banks were sold on platforms like Amazon, Homedepot, and Esrtech from September 2023 through July 2025. Around 24,000 units were distributed in the U.S., along with an additional 9,900 units in Canada.
What Should You Do If You Own One of the Recalled Power Banks?
For owners of the recalled power banks, immediate cessation of use is advised. The distributor, WayMeet, is facilitating refunds. To initiate a refund, mark the device with “Recalled” using a permanent marker and email a photograph of it to [email protected], including your order number if available.
