Exciting Updates to Google Photos Editor
Google Photos has introduced a revamped image editing interface. This upgrade comes with enhanced AI capabilities designed to assist users in selecting appropriate effects and expediting the photo editing process. Additionally, a pair of editing features that were once exclusive to Pixel devices—Auto Frame and Reimagine—are now part of this update, although it may take some time for all users to access them.
The Overhauled Google Photos Editor
With this fresh iteration of the Google Photos editor, users can find all editing tools conveniently located after tapping the Edit button beneath any image. New to this interface is the inclusion of AI-driven suggestions while editing. Just select the background or main subject of the photo you’re modifying, and the app will present a set of editing recommendations. This allows for rapid selection of the desired tool and adjustments without navigating away. For those preferring a hands-off approach, the new AI Enhance tool combines several tools and provides three automated results for you to consider.
According to Google, this redesigned editor will begin its rollout for Android users next month, with iOS availability anticipated later in the year.
Effortless Album Sharing via QR Codes
Simultaneously, Google Photos is launching another useful feature that simplifies the sharing of photo albums. Users can now create QR codes for their albums, making it easy to send to friends, family, or even to a printing service if physical copies are desired. Each generated QR code allows anyone access to the corresponding album, while sharing settings enable users to control who can view or add images.
