The Evolution of Google’s Emoji Kitchen: Now with Enhanced Browsing
Over the last five years, Google’s Emoji Kitchen has revolutionized the way users create their own emojis by mixing existing icons. This feature permits individuals to fuse two emojis into a singular creation, resulting in something both familiar and innovatively unique. For instance, combining the saluting emoji with the robot emoji yields a charming saluting robot, whereas merging the alien emoji with the “shh” emoji produces an alien signaling for silence.
However, not all emojis can be combined; the options available depend on Google’s predetermined pairings. Occasionally, through software updates, Google introduces new emoji combinations, although these additions may not always be explicitly highlighted. The more emojis you use within Gboard, the more surprising combinations you might stumble upon.
Excitingly, discovering new combinations no longer requires tedious trial and error with Emoji Kitchen. Now, there’s a feature that allows users to simply scroll through various curated emojis.
Discover Emoji Kitchen Combinations on Pixel Devices
As highlighted by 9to5Google, Google is introducing an update to the emoji keyboard specifically for Pixel devices. Following the update, users will notice a thin strip of emoji combinations positioned at the top of the emoji keyboard, accompanied by an arrow at its end. By tapping this arrow, a comprehensive grid of emoji combinations will emerge, allowing for extensive scrolling. Should you reach the end of the list without spotting an appealing emoji, simply pull down to refresh and start again from the top.

Once a satisfying combination is found, simply tap on it. The keyboard will display a pop-up indicating the two original emojis that formed this new creation. To use it, just select Send.

While Emoji Kitchen is accessible on all devices equipped with Gboard, the new Emoji Kitchen browsing feature is limited to Pixel devices. Users on other devices will still need to create emoji combinations manually. Alternatively, the “Randomize” option is available within the Emoji Kitchen feature; simply search for Emoji Kitchen in a web browser and click on Get cooking.
