Google Unveils High-End AI Ultra Subscription at I/O
At the recent I/O conference, Google rolled out a slew of impressive announcements, but none stirred more excitement than the introduction of its Google AI Ultra subscription. Priced at $250 each month, this offering stands as the most premium subscription option ever presented by Google, and it certainly packs an extensive set of features.
The highlights of this subscription include access to Gemini Ultra, featuring the innovative Veo 3 model for generating videos, which intriguingly incorporates sound generate capabilities as well. This tier will also be the pioneering group to experience the forthcoming 2.5 Pro Deep Think reasoning model, which Google claims can “analyze multiple possibilities before providing a response.” Additionally, users will benefit from editing tools available through Flow and Whisk, which enhance the video and image generation capacities of Veo and Imagen.
Although these offerings fall under the Google One service umbrella, they are not exclusively focused on artificial intelligence. In addition to the features highlighted earlier, subscribers will receive a remarkable 30TB of storage, which applies across all Google services tied to their accounts, such as Gmail, Photos, and Drive.
As an added bonus, Google is including an individual subscription to YouTube Premium at this elite subscription level. This makes the Google AI Ultra plan unique in that it offers ad-free access to YouTube as well as YouTube Music—a significant advantage over the previous Google One Premium plan tagged at $150, which grants users 30TB of storage and only access to Gemini Pro functionalities.
The previous offering, known as Google AI Premium, has now been rebranded to Google AI Pro. It continues to be available at a monthly fee of $20 and retains the same features enjoyed by users before. However, there is now limited access to Flow alongside Veo 2, as well as Gemini integration in Chrome.
