Your Guide to the Quordle Solution for June 4, 2025
Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Quordle #1227! If you’re seeking hints and strategies for today’s puzzle, continue reading.
Understanding Quordle
Quordle can be found here on the Merriam-Webster website, with a new puzzle released daily.
This game offers a spin on the classic Wordle format from The New York Times, wherein players must guess a five-letter word within a limited number of attempts. However, Quordle ups the ante by requiring players to solve four puzzles simultaneously, applying each guess across all four boards at once. To balance this increased challenge, players receive nine guesses (or twelve in “Chill” mode, and eight in “Extreme” mode”), unlike Wordle’s six attempts.
Kick off your game by guessing a five-letter word; the letters will indicate their correctness with colors: green for correct letters in the right position, yellow for correct letters in the wrong place, and gray for incorrect letters.

How to Approach Today’s Quordle
Begin with a guess like SLATE, then try STORK for the upper right to locate that T. Only two letters remain unresolved!
Next, use STEAM for the lower left. Not exactly accurate, but closer to the target.
For the top right, perhaps an S could fit at the end: STOPS? No luck. How about STOUT? Buzzer sounds: correct!
The bottom right could involve something akin to GOOPY; however, O can’t occupy the third position. Denoting a Y at the end feels right.
Consider a random guess to uncover additional letters—let’s go with BIGLY. It could help!
What about DIPPY for the bottom right? Close, but the answer is HIPPO.
Last guess left, and two puzzles unresolved. What a twist!
The bottom left clearly begins with “SE,” so SEDAN should fit. Nailed it!
Finally, the last one: BANAL. A little off on that one—better luck next time!

Wondering what to guess first? Wordle can offer some insight.
Optimal starting words are typically those containing frequent letters, boosting the odds of receiving positive feedback to enhance your following guesses. Even if you receive all gray results from guessing popular letters, this still gives useful information to eliminate options. While there’s no singular best starter, the analysis from The New York Times’s Wordle analysis bot suggests these initial guesses:
- CRANE
- TRACE
- SLANT
- CRATE
- CARTE
Additionally, a study by MIT found that you can narrow down options most effectively by beginning with these words:
- SALET
- REAST
- TRACE
- CRATE
- SLATE
Other solid choices may include ARISE or ROUND. Although words like ADIEU and AUDIO highlight more vowels, starting with a consonant-heavy word like RENTS or CLAMP might also yield better results. Choose your approach and see where it leads!
