Getting Started with Quordle
Quordle can be enjoyed here on the Merriam-Webster platform. Each day at midnight local time, a fresh puzzle awaits.
For those unfamiliar, Quordle takes the classic Wordle format and adds a twist: you’re tasked with cracking four five-letter words simultaneously. Each guess contributes to all four puzzles, making it more challenging than the original. Players receive nine attempts in total (12 in “Chill” mode or eight in “Extreme” mode) compared to the six offered by Wordle.
Begin your quest by suggesting a five-letter word. The letters in each of the quadrants will highlight green for correct letters, yellow for the right letters in the wrong positions, and gray for letters not part of the secret word.

Strategy for Solving Today’s Quordle
Starting with the word CRATE revealed an A and an E in the upper right section.
The next guess, PLANE, gave me some useful yellow letters in the lower left quadrant, prompting me to focus on that area.
With the letters highlighted, APPLE seemed promising for the lower left, leading me to conclude MAPLE was the only logical remaining option.
To gather additional information, I guessed HOUSE. This indicated the lower left might be related to either PURES, PUREE, or PURER. Testing PURER turned out to be successful.
The upper right quadrant could potentially be SHAVE or SHAKE. Upon trying SHAKE, I was correct!
Since the upper left didn’t end with E or D, I hypothesized it started with either. DECOR didn’t work due to the absence of R. However, DECOY was the winner!
