Quordle Insights for May 27, 2025: Tips, Hints, and Answers

If you’re on the hunt for the solution to Quordle for May 27, 2025, you’ve come to the right place! This guide will provide useful hints, strategies, and eventually unveil the answer. Warning: Spoilers for Quordle #1219 are included below! Continue reading if you’re after some assistance (and the ultimate solution) for today’s game. (For those who enjoy Wordle, Connections, and Strands, hints for those games are also available.)

Playing Quordle: A Quick Guide

Quordle can be found here on the Merriam-Webster platform. A new challenge is released every day.

This game is a variation of the New York Times’ popular Wordle, where players have a set number of attempts to identify a five-letter word. In Quordle, participants tackle four Wordle-style puzzles simultaneously, with each guess affecting all four grids. To accommodate this added challenge, Quordle provides nine attempts (or twelve in “Chill” mode, and eight in “Extreme” mode), compared to the six allowed in Wordle.

Start by entering a five-letter word. The letters will indicate their status: they will turn green if correct, yellow if they are in the word but misplaced, and gray if they are not present at all.

Ready for some clues? Let’s dive in!

Hints for Today’s Quordle

Solution to Today’s Quordle

  • Upper right: RANGE
  • Lower left: POPPY
  • Lower right: RADAR

Strategy for Solving Today’s Quordle

The first guess was SLATE, as is the routine. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield much. The next guess was MOUND to uncover more vowels. Not great findings today; let’s experiment with PICKY and see if anything sticks.

For the lower left option, I considered POOFY. That didn’t work, nor did POPPY at first—although a triple letter surprise really adds a twist.

This board is quite challenging. After several attempts, only one letter was confirmed. I’ll need to think creatively about duplicates and vowel placements.

Maybe I should try BERET for the upper left? No luck there. What about TWEET? Yes! With two remaining guesses and two words pending, I decided RADAR was my best shot for the bottom right. Success!

Optimal Starter Words for Quordle

What’s the ideal choice for that opening guess? Insights from Wordle provide a good direction.

The most effective starter words generally comprise frequently used letters, which boosts the chances of unlocking yellow and green hints. Even if all letters turn gray when using common characters, that’s still valuable information that narrows your options. While no single word is universally the best opener, analysis from the New York Times’s Wordle analysis tool suggests these as effective starters:

  • CRANE
  • TRACE
  • SLANT
  • CRATE
  • CARTE

An investigation by MIT revealed that you can eliminate the most options on your initial go by beginning with one of the following:

  • SALET
  • REAST
  • TRACE
  • CRATE
  • SLATE

Additional strong candidates include ARISE or ROUND. While words such as ADIEU or AUDIO introduce additional vowels, some might argue that a focus on consonants is advantageous. A starter like RENTS or CLAMP can be a solid strategy. Choose your preferred approach and see how effectively it works.

Enjoy solving today’s Quordle and best of luck!
