How to Play Quordle
Quordle can be found here on the Merriam-Webster website, with a fresh puzzle released daily.
This game is a twist on the widely popular Wordle from the New York Times, where the challenge is to guess a five-letter word within a limited number of tries. Unlike Wordle, Quordle has you simultaneously tackling four separate puzzles, allowing each guess to be applied across all four. Due to its heightened complexity, Quordle provides nine attempts (or 12 if playing in “Chill” mode, and eight in “Extreme” mode”) compared to the six allowed in Wordle.
Your first step is to guess a five-letter word. In each of the four sections, letters will illuminate in different colors: green indicates a correct letter in the right position, yellow denotes a correct letter in the wrong place, and gray signifies that the letter isn’t part of the mystery word.

Solving Today’s Quordle
Starting with the word SLATE is often a solid choice.
For the bottom right, it was tricky to think of a word that concludes with TE, without including an L or A. The word QUITE came to mind. Success!
The upper right word likely initiates with a blend of consonants, such as FL or PL.
To narrow down more letters, I decided to experiment with a word that could eliminate common letters. I tried PORGY—no hits, but a couple of yellow indicators helped narrow the options. At least the vowels are now out of the way. I’ll test ELFIN next. It worked!
For the bottom left, a word ending in IER seemed plausible, so I guessed CRIER. So close! One letter off. DRIER? Perfectly done!
