Effortlessly Clear Out Your Social Media History with Redact

Whether driven by security issues, concerns about privacy, or simply the urge to eliminate cringeworthy content, there are numerous reasons to remove those outdated posts from social media. Fortunately, various tools exist to assist in this endeavor. However, most of them typically concentrate on just a couple of platforms. Enter Redact, a premium solution that facilitates post removal across a staggering 28 different networks.

This innovative tool allows users to search for old posts and select specific ones for deletion. Additionally, it enables searches based on particular topics of interest. A noteworthy feature is its scheduling capability, which allows for timed deletion of posts—for instance, if you wish to erase all posts made on Bluesky after a month. It essentially gives users significant control while operating directly from their own computers.

Redact supports a wide array of platforms—ranging from nostalgic networks you might have forgotten about to prevalent workplace applications. The comprehensive list of compatible services includes: Bluesky, Bumble, DeviantArt, Discord, Disqus, Facebook, Flickr, GitHub, Gyazo, any email service using IMAP, Imgur, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Medium, MyAnimeList, Pinterest, Quora, Reddit, Skype, Slack, Stack Exchange, Steam, Telegram, Tumblr, Twitter, Vimeo, WordPress, and Yelp. This diverse selection spans everything from dating applications to professional tools.

Using Redact: A Step-By-Step Guide

To begin utilizing Redact, simply download the software and create your account. Subsequently, you can sign into the platforms from which you wish to delete posts and select the content you want to remove. If you are a Chrome user, the tool even permits you to quickly retrieve all the sites you’re logged into.

It’s important to note that without a subscription, the service imposes various restrictions. The free version is limited to Facebook, Twitter, Discord, and Reddit, and even then, it has constraints on scanning history and deleting volumes of posts. This version mainly serves as an exploration tool for potential users.

To unlock the full extent of features, a paid plan is necessary—starting at $7.99 per month, amounting to $95.88 per year (with no annual discount available). While this can accumulate over time, if the objective is merely to clean up past posts across multiple accounts, a one-month subscription may suffice. For those who require the Ultimate plan to delete content from professional accounts such as Slack, GitHub, and Stack Exchange, this plan begins at $14.99 per month, totaling $179.88 annually.
