The Rising Popularity of Bluesky and Its Impact on Threads
Bluesky is capturing attention these days, as evidenced by Mark Zuckerberg’s reactions. Currently, Bluesky boasts a user base of approximately 30 million, which pales in comparison to Threads’ impressive 320 million users. Nevertheless, Adam Mosseri, the leader of Threads, is actively striving to make Threads more similar to Bluesky.
Bluesky offers some distinctive elements, such as a timeline free from algorithms and enhanced moderation features. However, one standout feature that users appreciate the most, and which Threads is swiftly incorporating, is the ability to create customizable shareable feeds.
Threads has also introduced functionality for users to establish custom feeds. These feeds can be shared via a direct message, link, or even promoted on your profile. The creation of a custom feed allows users to escape from the algorithmic content that Threads might present, which could include postings from accounts of little interest.
To create a custom feed, users can navigate through the Threads app or website. After selecting the For You or Following feed, hold down and choose the Create New Feed option. Ensure to activate the Public Feed toggle if visibility on your profile is desired.
Proceed to Add topics or profiles. You can search for and include profiles or any related topics or terms. Upon completion, press Create Feed. Users can add a maximum of 150 profiles and up to 5 topics for each custom feed, with an allowance for creating up to 128 unique feeds overall.

Once established, the new feed will appear in the bar of available feeds, enabling opportunities for sharing immediately.
On your Profile page, navigate to the Feeds tab and select your desired Feed. Tap on the Share feed option to either DM it to users on Threads or Instagram. Alternatively, a link to the feed can be easily copied for broader distribution.

When engaging with feeds shared by others, two actions are available. Utilize the Pin to Home option to have the feed accessible on your Threads home screen, allowing exploration without the need to follow everyone mentioned. Alternatively, clicking on Follow Profiles will allow you to follow all the profiles included in that feed.
If a custom feed shared with you does not meet your preferences, removing it is simple. Just press and hold the feed tab at the top and select Remove to eliminate it.
