Exciting Additions to Netflix This May
This May, Netflix unveils an array of engaging content, beginning with the premiere of a fresh comedy miniseries featuring the talents of Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Titled The Four Seasons, set to debut on the first of the month, this adaptation of Alan Alda’s 1981 film revolves around three married couples on their routine getaway, who uncover one of them is on the verge of divorce. The cast also includes Marco Calvani, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Erika Henningsen, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.
Another noteworthy comedy show, Sirens, premieres on May 22. In this dark comedy, Julianne Moore portrays a wealthy socialite entrenched in a luxurious yet cult-like lifestyle. Kevin Bacon joins the cast as well. Additionally, fans of the animated series will be delighted to see the eighth and final season of Big Mouth streaming from May 23, featuring a star-studded guest lineup alongside mainstays like Nick Kroll and John Mulaney.
For sports enthusiasts, Netflix expands its Untold series with several compelling segments this May. First up is Untold: Shooting Guards, premiering on May 6, which delves into a high-stakes gambling controversy between NBA players Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton. Following that, on May 13, Untold: The Liver King reveals a steroid scandal tied to influencer Brian Johnson, known for promoting “ancestral living.” Lastly, on May 20, Untold: The Fall of Favre investigates the contentious history of football legend Brett Favre. Additional sports content includes the F1-focused documentary F1: The Academy launching May 28 and the NASCAR series Full Speed appearing on May 7.
This month also features stand-up specials from prominent comedians. Postmortem, by Sarah Silverman, arrives on May 20, while Mike Birbiglia’s special The Good Life debuts on May 26. Furthermore, audiences can witness Conan O’Brien receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor during a ceremony held at the Kennedy Center back in March.
Documentary enthusiasts can look forward to intriguing narratives with American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden debuting on May 14, alongside Britain and the Blitz on May 5, and Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story also set for May 14.
