Fresh Content Coming to Prime Video in May
While Amazon has yet to unveil a complete catalog of upcoming releases for Prime Video in May, several exciting original titles await viewers, ranging from gripping documentaries to intriguing dark comedies.
Leading the lineup is Another Simple Favor, set to premiere on May 1. This comedy-mystery sequel, directed by Paul Feig, follows the events of 2018’s A Simple Favor. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively return as Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson. This time, the plot unfolds against the backdrop of a murder that disrupts Emily’s wedding celebration in beautiful Capri, Italy. The film also features talents such as Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Michele Morrone, and Allison Janney.
Later in the month, an eight-part thriller series titled The Better Sister debuts on May 29. This series stars Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks as sisters whose strained relationship is tested when one of their husbands is murdered. Fans of the genre will recognize that it is based on the novel of the same name by Alafair Burke.
In the meantime, viewers can look forward to an engaging two-part nature documentary called Octopus!, narrated by the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge, which makes its debut on May 8. This docuseries includes a special appearance by Tracy Morgan. Additionally, Jeremy Clarkson returns for the third season of Clarkson’s Farm on May 23. Other notable releases include David Spade’s special Dandelion on May 6 and the college-themed comedy-drama Overcompensating by Benito Skinner, arriving on May 15 and produced by A24.
