There isn’t a universal “best” starting word, but an analysis from the New York Times’s Wordle analysis bot suggests starting with one of the following:

• TRACE
• SLANT
• CRATE
• CARTE

Furthermore, an MIT study discovered that utilizing one of these words can help eliminate the highest number of possibilities in your initial guess:

• SALET
• REAST
• TRACE
• CRATE

Additionally, good options may include ARISE or ROUND. Words like ADIEU and AUDIO can incorporate more vowels into your guesses, but many prefer to begin with consonants using starter words like RENTS or CLAMP. Determine your strategy and see what works best.
