The Teasing of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge: What to Expect
Samsung recently unveiled its Galaxy S25 series, which consists of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. However, the spotlight also shifted towards a potential fourth model—the Galaxy S25 Edge. Accompanying detailed specifications for the new phones set to launch on February 7, Samsung offered a glimpse into this intriguing future release.
This revelation took place during Samsung’s Unpacked event. Unfortunately, attendees were given little more than a name and some conceptual images. Initial impressions suggest that the Galaxy S25 Edge aims to be a sleeker alternative to the regular S25, featuring a dual-camera setup tailored for its more compact design.

Interestingly, whispers about an iPhone Air from Apple have also been circulating, attributed to reliable industry insiders like supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.
If these reports hold true, the simultaneous launch of the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge could indicate a trend towards slimmer devices, potentially reigniting consumer interest amid a decline in enthusiasm for foldable phones and increasingly modest updates in traditional models.
According to a conversation with a Samsung representative from South Africa reported by Android Authority, the S25 Edge is confirmed for a release in South Korea and the United States, although it may take longer to extend availability globally.

Regarding specifications, TM Roh, Samsung’s mobile president, stated in an interview with Bloomberg that the Edge will incorporate some of the innovative technologies found in the Ultra model but within a more compact frame. While this might be optimistic given the expected adjustments to camera capabilities, it raises questions about the performance of the Edge compared to the standard S25.
Given such advanced technology packed into a slim form, it’s reasonable to anticipate a higher price point (the starting price for the S25 is $800). However, final pricing and the official release date remain tentative. Gurman has suggested that the launch could occur “in the first half of this year,” but no official confirmation has been provided.
