Streamlining Wi-Fi Connectivity Across Apple Devices
It may seem like a small inconvenience, but connecting multiple Apple devices to a hotel Wi-Fi can become quite tedious. The process usually involves linking each device—starting with your iPhone, then your iPad, and finally your Mac. However, it appears that Apple has recognized this hassle. According to a recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 is set to introduce a feature that enables automatic connection of multiple devices to the same public Wi-Fi network after logging in with just one device.
This enhancement offers several benefits. Not only does it eliminate the need to connect each device individually, but it also minimizes the amount of tedious paperwork. When accessing Wi-Fi in public spaces—like gyms, cafes, hotels, or airports—users are often prompted to complete a web form. These forms may require personal information and can often include captchas or unique codes that restrict data access for individual devices.
With this new mechanism, the user will only need to complete the web form one time. After successfully submitting it, the Wi-Fi credentials will seamlessly sync across all connected Apple devices, similar to the current functionality seen for regular Wi-Fi networks. This promises to make the user experience far more efficient and user-friendly.
While this feature hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, several questions still remain. For example, how will this feature function on networks that impose restrictions on the number of devices that can be connected? Given Gurman’s reliable history of reporting on Apple’s software and hardware developments, it’s reasonable to anticipate more information emerging soon. iOS 19 is slated for revelation at WWDC in June, and speculation suggests significant redesigns for iPhones, iPads, and Macs will accompany this update.
