Preview on iPads: A Long-Awaited Addition to Apple’s Ecosystem
While the majority of tasks are typically performed on Windows or Android platforms, there’s one application from macOS that has left a significant void: Preview. This seemingly basic image-handling tool is, in reality, the superior choice for reading and occasionally modifying PDFs. Excitingly, Apple has recently revealed at WWDC 2025 that Preview is set to make its debut on iPads.
The joy stemming from this relatively small yet impactful announcement cannot be understated. Without a doubt, Apple is advancing language translation and introducing resizable windows for iPads. However, the convenience of these updates pales in comparison to the frustration of needing to launch the Books app just to access a short PDF document. One might as well be stuck in a bygone era.
On macOS, Preview boasts a lightweight structure devoid of an overwhelming array of editing features, yet the tools it does provide are incredibly effective. Users can easily isolate a single page from a PDF or rearrange pages in longer documents. It’s the kind of underappreciated application that, while lacking in spotlight, proves invaluable in moments of need.
